In 2012, I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors in Landscape Architecture. After learning about rainwater collection, drainage, native plant species, and design, it was clear to me that the house and land are an extension of each other.  They should be integrated, not just complimenting each other, but becoming one seamless living space. Thus, I became interested in natural building where houses that were essentially made from materials found on the land or nearby.

Following my degree, I traveled to Argentina and interned with an organization called Mama Roja to learn about adobe brick construction and sustainable living.  In 2013, I worked for Livingstructure, a small building company in central Pennsylvania.  We built a house for a organic chicken farmer whose house caught fire the previous year. My next journey was across the country to Oregon, where I studied natural building in depth. This experience included remodeling with natural materials and new construction. I have gained experience working with a range of materials and techniques, including timber framing, natural insulation, foundations, natural plasters, furniture, finish work, and landscape. Some following experiences included working on old farmhouse remodel in Vermont, building a strawbale duplex in central Colorado, and building homes with Habitat for Humanity in Connecticut.
